DICOMUnity brings together a field we have known since the early days of networked medical imaging and the AI and quantum research defining its next era.
DICOMUnity began inside the Wolf Enterprise research and development team while we were working on quantum-computing and chip concepts. We wanted more than a laboratory demonstration. We wanted a demanding, real-world environment where security, interoperability, long-lived data, and operational reliability all matter.
Healthcare imaging was the natural place to return. It is a domain our team understands from direct experience—and one where advances in AI and post-quantum protection can become practical infrastructure rather than isolated experiments.
We did not return to recreate the PACS of the past. We returned to build the imaging foundation we believe the next era requires.
Our perspective comes from building at several turning points in digital imaging—not from discovering the field only after AI arrived.
When PACS installation and integration were still complex, our team built DICOM capture cards that converted video signals into DICOM images and gateways that connected non-DICOM equipment to DICOM networks.
We continued with research into a secured DICOM agent framework—exploring how imaging nodes could communicate, route information, and enforce control across distributed environments.
That work expanded into enterprise PACS and RIS platforms, together with web-based DICOM viewing for clinical access across the organization.
We stepped away from digital-imaging product development for more than fifteen years. Our focus moved toward data science, data engineering, AI model development, distributed learning, photonic quantum chips, and quantum computing.
DICOMUnity is where that earlier imaging experience meets our current research: a product family designed to make AI, institutional control, modern security, and post-quantum readiness part of one medical-imaging architecture.
We remember why medical-imaging systems evolved as they did. We also had the distance to ask what should be rebuilt when AI agents, distributed learning, and quantum-era security become design requirements.
We translate quantum and AI research into infrastructure that can support an actual imaging workflow, not only a technical demonstration.
Archive, viewer, security, routing, workflow, and intelligence are treated as connected responsibilities around the same patient study.
